HERD THE CURD

Herd The Curd, the cheesiest 5K and 10K in PA, is held annually on Labor Day weekend at Highland Farm.

All runners and walkers receive cheese curds and chocolate milk at the finish line.

Save the date and join us for the 14th Annual Herd the Curd 5K/10K on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

The Herd the Curd race benefits the Michael J. Bryant Memorial Fund, and since the race’s inception in 2013, Herd the Curd sponsors and runners have raised $204,000 for the fund.

About The Michael J. Bryant Memorial Fund

The Michael J. Bryant Memorial Fund was established in 2008 in memory of the Calkins Creamery co-owner.

Since reaching endowed status, the Fund awards grants to Wayne County residents and nonprofit organizations with documented needs. The Wayne County Community Foundation manages the Fund.

Details From The 13th Annual Herd The Curd Race

Our 13th Annual Herd The Curd Race, raised $25,000 for the Michael J. Bryant Memorial Fund. Nearly 375 runners and walkers participated in the race on scenic Highland Farm.

Top finishers in this year’s race included Lewis Smith of Honesdale, PA, who claimed the men’s 5K title with a time of 22:53, and Marykate Grady of Pleasant Mount, PA, who led the women’s 5K with a time of 25:41. In the 10K event, Kevin Nolan of Philadelphia, PA, successfully defended his men’s title with a time of 39:38, while Tiffany Leventhal of Honesdale, PA, earned the women’s 10K win, finishing in 47:31
